FAQ
Common questions
How do I join the beta?
Match Up is currently an iPhone-only TestFlight beta — there is no public App Store listing yet. Email jonathanmahrtguyou@gmail.com with the Apple ID email address you want the invite sent to, and you'll get a TestFlight invitation.
Once you have the invite: install Apple's free TestFlight app from the App Store, open the emailed invitation on your iPhone, accept it, and install Match Up from inside TestFlight. You need an iPhone running a recent version of iOS.
How do I reset my password?
Match Up accounts are email and password. Passwords are stored only as salted hashes, so nobody — including the developer — can look yours up; it can only be reset.
Email jonathanmahrtguyou@gmail.com from the address on your account and a password-reset link will be sent to it. If you started out as a guest and never added an email, add one in the app first — that gives your account a way back in, and your existing training history carries over.
How does my data get backed up?
Match Up is offline first. Sessions log straight to your phone, so a dead signal in the weight room never blocks a workout. When you're back on a connection, your data syncs up to your private cloud account automatically.
That means your training history is not trapped on one device. Sign in on a new iPhone and your profile, workout logs, tournaments, energy check-ins and streaks come back down. Signing out erases the local copy on the device — the cloud copy stays until you ask for it to be deleted.
Only your account can read your data; the database enforces that with row-level security. Full details are in the privacy policy.
How do I delete my account and all my data?
Email jonathanmahrtguyou@gmail.com from the address on your account and ask for deletion. Your account and everything attached to it — profile, workout logs, energy check-ins, tournaments and streaks — are permanently deleted within 30 days. This cannot be undone, so ask for an export first if you want to keep your history.
To remove the local copy immediately, sign out in the app (which wipes the on-device cache) and delete the app from your iPhone.
Can I get a copy of my training data?
Yes. Email jonathanmahrtguyou@gmail.com and you'll be sent a machine-readable export of everything stored under your account, free of charge, within 30 days.
Is Match Up on Android or iPad?
Not right now. The beta is built for iPhone. If Android matters to you, say so in an email — beta demand is what decides what gets built.
Do I need a gym for the program?
The lift days assume access to standard equipment — barbell, dumbbells, bench, medicine ball and resistance bands. The SAQ days need open space and cones, and use a sled where available. If your setup is different, email and it can be talked through.
The app crashed. What should I send?
Use the bug report email and include what you were doing when it happened, your iPhone model and iOS version, and the app version. A screenshot or screen recording helps a lot. Crashes also send an anonymous diagnostic report automatically, so a rough timestamp is often enough to find it.
Note
This is beta software
Match Up is in active TestFlight beta. Things will change between builds, and you may hit rough edges — that is exactly what the beta is for. Reporting them is the most useful thing you can do, and it is the fastest way to influence what the app becomes.
For what the app collects and how to access or delete it, read the privacy policy.
